Description:
The
Wyoming Veterans Trail Crew (WyVTC) is a program within the Wyoming
Conservation Corps. The WyVTC program is for military veterans (including
National Guard) only. Veterans will work all over Wyoming's public lands
designing, building, and maintaining trails. The crew will camp out next to the
projects for days or weeks at a time, perform as a team, meet potential future
employers, work long hours, eat a hot breakfast every morning, and work and

-Working 10-hour days
-Living and working at the near the job site for anywhere from 4 to 40 days depending
-Working with state and federal agency officials
-Building and maintaining trails
-Moving heavy timbers and stones
-Using a wide variety of hand tools, chainsaws, and mechanical equipment
-USFS Chainsaw certification S-212
-Wilderness First Aid certification
-Living Stipend of $7,650 (members) and $8,550 (leaders)
-AmeriCorps Education Award: $2,907.50
-Optional University of Wyoming credits
-Quality food and transportation
-Shaking hands with potential employers
-Must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces (Including National Guard) and can provide evidence; example: DD214
-Age 18-35
-Able to lift 50lbs repeatedly
-Able to hike rugged
terrain carrying heavy backpacks and tools
